Twenty-Four Directions · Ershisi Shan

The inner character ring appears to reference the traditional Twenty-Four Mountains: a compass framework that divides 360 degrees into twenty-four sectors of 15 degrees. In feng-shui practice these sectors refine the broad eight-direction system. They are a directional notation system—not a promise that an object can determine a person’s fate.

What “Nine-Star” Means Here

“Nine Stars” is used in more than one Chinese cosmological and feng-shui system, including Northern Dipper, Flying-Star, and other directional frameworks.
